Cougars Gone Wild!

If you spot a gorgeous, confident Cougar in her natural habitat, the first question you might want to ask her is, "You look amazing - how old are you?" If she had attended the "How to be a Cougar" class at this year's California Cougar Convention taught by the Queen of the Cougar Jungle, Lucia, she'd know the proper answer: "Old enough to be a Cougar."

The Cougars came slinking out of the "Cougar Closet" on Friday night to attend the California Cougar Convention 2009 at the Crowne Plaza, Beverly Hills. Perhaps by design, there were more Cubs than Cougars. What's a Cub, you ask? The young men that love older women. Queen Cougar Lucia shared her wealth of experience with the other Cougars in attendance: how to keep from "mothering" your Cub, how to remain emotionally detached while being actively involved with your Cub, and of course, how to deal with your Cub's mother.

During her keynote speech, which was open to Cougars and Cubs, she clarified that Cougars are single women over 40 who love men 10 or more years their junior. She believes the large divorce rate in the last few decades created the space for Cougars to exist: divorced men don't want to date women their own age; hence these women started dating younger men. Finally, Lucia posed the question: are Cougars just a fad? From the handsome room full of Cubs that were eager to get at the fabulous Cougars, it's clear that Cougars and Cubs are here to stay.

The keynote speech was followed by a round of speed dating, drinks and dancing. Attendees shopped at the Love Shack Parties (www.LoveShackParties.com) booth for lingerie and incognito vibrating goodies. Love Shack Parties handed out gift bags to all attendees with a flavored Grrl Toyz Spray Lubricant, Grrl Toys Lip Plumper and a Penthouse City Toys eye mask.
