Topco Sales Launches Rascal Toys at the World Famous Pleasure Chest in West Hollywood

Topco Sales launched the Rascal Toy Line on Wednesday, October 3rd at The Pleasure Chest in West Hollywood with a high-profile party that featured Chi Chi LaRue and Rascal Video Exclusive Stars, Eddie Diaz and Cole Ryder. As Chi Chi chirped on the microphone and spun tunes, prizes were given out to an eager public, and the stars mugged for photos and signed autographs.
An entire rack at the Pleasure Chest displayed the line. The bold black and red colors on the packaging merchandise well together and reflect the Rascal Video brand. It certainly caught the eyes of savvy gay consumers during the party. Plus the robust sizes truly set them apart from other toys, and that didn’t go unnoticed by the party-goers.
Since Rascal Video is known for its quality talent, Topco Sales paid special attention to every detail of the replica pieces. Molded directly from stars like Eddie Diaz and Cole Ryder, these toys are incredibly realistic. They truly are works of art, collectables, even, and many purchases were made at the Pleasure Chest by fans who wanted to take home a "piece" of their favorite star.

Dirty Wordsmith Goes to the Dirty Sexy Money Premiere

The night of Sunday Sept. 23, marked the premiere party for ABC's spicy new weeknight dramedy Dirty Sexy Money. This year, Topco Sales has made a concerted effort to put its products before a mainstream audience. As an appropriate tie-in to the show's covetous theme, Topco Sales marketing director Desiree Duffie arranged for saucy and seductive Topco Sales products, such as the Think Pink® Lust Dust and grrl toyz™ eye-masks, to be included in the giftbags. Our contribution earned Topco Sales® two invites to the event, one of which I was lucky enough to snag.
The party was held on the Paramount Studios lot. A red carpet lined the entranceway – they must have heard I was coming. Desiree and I waited outside while the celebrity cast, including Peter Krause, Donald Sutherland, and Jill Clayburgh, made their way past the paparazzi. That didn't stop us from sneaking behind Billy Baldwin while he was being interviewed – the right side of the top of my forehead photographs beautifully!
The show's producer made a rambling, slightly inebriated speech to introduce his work, which would probably have been the highlight of the evening had I not been distracted by Sutherland's silken silvery locks and Peter Krause's…well, Peter Krause. The show was an undeniably entertaining mix of twisted humor, celebutante mockery, soap style sexiness, and a healthy dose of cynicism. I personally was thrilled to have the Topco Sales® name associated with it. The very possibility of Topco Sales' participation in the event is a sure sign of the way the line between the adult and mainstream worlds is becoming blurred.
After the premiere, I forced myself to take part in the free champagne and gourmet appetizer bar…life is rough sometimes. I chatted about the show and took in amateur reviews from fellow partygoers. On the way out, Desiree and I stopped by the gift bag table. Peter Krause ran over to me; he couldn't wait to show me his gift bag! Okay, that didn’t happen, but I did get to see him take his bag and he did look thrilled when he looked inside. Besides the buzz that could be heard coming from the homes of party attendees later that night, a healthy buzz about Topco Sales products also sprang up in on-line communities. With brands such as grrl toyz quickly gaining a MySpace fan base, and other Topco Sales products earning mainstream nods from popular media including LA Thrilllist, Kiss FM, and Scarlet magazine, our adult brands are becoming recognizable to the general public, benefiting distributors and retailers alike.

Sex Toy Survey at 2007 Folsom Street Fair San Francisco

Folsom Street Fair is known throughout the world and regarded as the largest leather/fetish street fair of the year. Drawing over 500,000 people to the streets of San Francisco anything goes... and boy did it! On Sept. 30th Topco Sales sent me to find out what gay men really want in their sex toys and what's important in the packaging.
Smack dab in the middle of the fair, we partnered with the Gulch and Raging Stallion Studios booth. Standing in one spot for 7 1⁄2 hours, I got to talk with many different people. Some flirted, a few ran screaming but thankfully many took the survey seriously and really helped out.
As a thank you, each person who filled out the survey received a gift bag which included a safe sex quickie kit, deck of male playing cards and a stretchy cock ring. We also included a coupon for the Gulch retail stores.
Throughout the day, we also raffled off duffle bags filled with Topco products. Each person received a ticket for filing out the survey. "Big" spenders at the booth (they were selling movies and our toys on site) were also given raffle tickets. Once an hour I drew a ticket and people came back to the booth to see if their ticket matched. We made one half dozen men REALLY happy.
By the end of the day I had 250 completed surveys with a lot of helpful information to make our gay line even better than it is now.
