In July, 2008 Topco Sales® celebrates 35 years in business as one of the world's leading novelty manufacturers. It was summer of 1973 that Martin Tucker authored two books on lovemaking. Getting it on Sexually and The Secret Joys of Sexual Fulfillment were very successful and inspired Tucker to begin manufacturing products that were then called 'marital aids.'

With a background in aerospace technology and metallurgical engineering, Tucker was a natural innovator who created several ground-breaking milestones in novelty manufacturing. He developed the first massagers that operated on low-voltage adapters instead of batteries and came out with some of the first rabbit-style vibes. Integrated Circuit (I.C.) operated vibrators, CyberSkin®, and the world famous Love Swing® also top the list of some of the most popular and innovative Topco Sales® products.

In April 2001 Martin Tucker's son, Scott Tucker, took the helm of Topco Sales®. Martin Tucker moved to China to open a manufacturing facility in Shenzhen called High Tech Novelties (HTN). A true visionary, the senior Tucker knew that the emerging opportunities in China's first Special Economic Zone would benefit Topco Sales®. Indeed the area is known as the largest manufacturing base in the world and Shenzhen is one of the fastest growing cities globally.

In May of 2008 Topco Sales® announced a complete merger with HTN. The merger positions Topco Sales® as a global novelty company with more capabilities than ever before.

Topco Sales China® consists of a full-time staff, a product showroom and 4,500 square feet of office space. It is located in one of the city's modern high-rise buildings, which is a key central-location near the convention center and major hotels.

Being in the heart of the manufacturing base of the world also means that Topco Sales® has direct access to numerous Chinese vendors. This makes the manufacturing process more streamlined, efficient, and cost effective. All Chinese vendors have been FDA registered, making them every bit as compliant as their US counterpart. Last year Topco Sales® implemented RoHS (Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) regulations that are effective in Europe and other countries. Topco Sales® anticipates that the new location will make overseeing materials and ingredients even more efficient.

Topco Sales China® is also poised to expand the companies' private label capabilities. As the adult novelty industry grows, so does the marketplace. Knowing that brand extension opportunities and private label manufacturing have the potential for rapid growth in the coming years, Topco Sales® stands ready to service the world.

Additionally Topco Sales® is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a 'Commitment to Green'. Recycling, water filtration, solar energy, RoHS, WEEE, and other ways of reducing Topco Sales'® carbon footprint are all either being implemented or considered.

The in-house photographer documents the entire molding process, from beginning to end, and then he incorporates the photos he took into the packaging art.

The artists create items for the International Sales Director's needs at the drop of a hat which often include customized slicks, ad, banners and posters. The artists create boxes and clamshells for products, often inventing innovative packaging when necessary. They create larger-than-life-sized posters, print ads and animated in-store ads. The annual Catalog and the corresponding supplemental catalog is a large undertaking.
